The Lundin Ladies Golf Club was founded in 1891 and reaches its 125th Anniversary this year.
A season of Anniversary celebrations began on Sunday 20th March with the traditional Opening match – Captain vs Vice Captain. The ladies then toasted the raising of a new commemorative flag, featuring the three impressive neolithic stones which tower 4 metres high on the 2nd fairway.
Lunch and a cake cutting ceremony followed in the Clubhouse. Mrs Heather Elliott and Mrs Helen Melville, the two longest serving members and both past Captains, cut the cake. Mrs Elliott joined the club 66 years ago and Mrs Melville 59 – strangely enough totalling 125 years!
